I've scanned in a few recent POR 25000 scale map examples now from the French Ain department, and I'll post the urls soon, so you UK Trec enthusiasts can compare the type and difficulty of the circuit & terrain with what I've encountered.
As an A4 scan, even jpeg compressed is still about 600kB, I'll just put links so you can download one at a time - (hmmm, maybe not for the first image.)
For those of you who haven't a clue where Ain is, it's borders Switzerland, the Haute-Savoie and Isere to the South. ie. It's right over the other side of France from Normandy!
