Do you need to be in a snaffle or does it not matter? And is a martingale frowned upon? Just wondered what the 'recommended tack' is?

Hello.I done my first indoor last week.I dont think it matters which bit you use.Standing martingales are not permitted i dont think.If you use a running martingale i think you have to have a headcollar/leadrope under/over the bridle so you can lead the horse.As you cannot bring the reins over the head with a martingale.Good luck!!.
