Hello,

I have bought some Tredstep Pro gaiters. I measure 15.5 inch around the calf so true to the fitting guide bought a pair at 16inches. These were huge so just re-ordered a 15inch fit but they seem a bit baggy around the lower part of the leg. They are not over tight around the top either (fit close to the leg but there is room for stretch yet because of the elastic. They are really quite high but am sure they will drop once worn.

I was just wondering how other people have got on with the sizing? Do they stretch a lot and drop a lot? I really don't want them baggy :(

Its the first pair of Tredsteps I have had as normally have Arait's but fancied a change as zips are always sliping down on mine!

Thoughts please? Any other recommendations for similar types would be good also.

Perhaps you need to go somewhere where you can try several different sizes on. I always had Tredstep suede half chaps as loved the fit but didn't feel they wore particularly well with regard to the under boot elastic and stitching. My zips come down on both sets of Ariats and I have skinny legs!

Thanks Kirsty - difficult as the closest place with a selection is 2 hrs away and can't get there at the moment! I love my Ariats but am getting fed up with every pair I have the zips going. Doesnt seem to be much other choice though out there.

I'm on about my 6th pair of Tredstep half chaps - not because they've worn out, but because I love them and wouldn't change. I get size 14 (width)/ 18 (length) and they do seem to wear very well. Can't comment on the size compared to other brands but my calf diameter (with trousers on) is 14.5" so maybe they do come up a bit big.

I had mine fitted at the shop and was full on stuffed into them as they do 'give' a lot once worn a few times. Love them but i'd get a lot smaller than you actually are and stretch them through use.

They will drop in length, I bought my second pair an inch taller than my actual size. They were really high behind my knee for the first couple of months but then when they dropped they ended up just right

I too was stuffed into mine! Got that "numb leg" feeling and everything ! But as assured they dropped from the back of my knee and now fit perfectly. I have 17" calves and mine are 16" calf width.

I also rounded up almost an inch on the height.

mine dropped as well but were pretty baggy around the lower part of my leg (think i probably should have got a smaller size :D) I've got Ariat Bromants now which I love not much help if your looking for gaiters though sorry :)
