Ok so I got my tredstep Gaiters... they are lovely... HOWEVER they fit perfectly round the widest part of my calf and just under the knee...

But the ankle area is slack and loose... hmmm should I keep them?

You can't SEE that they are slack around the lower part of my leg... but should I try and get an inch smaller for calf size so that they stretch but fit my lower leg better?

Anyone else had them? What were yours like?

I've got some & mine sound the same as yours but got mine on sale at Blair Castle so couldn't return them, they don't slip or move though. As long as they are comfy I'd keep them.

[/ QUOTE ]So they don't move round or anything?

Do they bag? I don't want 'creases' at the ankles meaning I can't feel the horse

They do strtch, so i'd go an inch smaller?! I like mine really close fitting though....

[/ QUOTE ]Hmmm... the only issue with this is how will I get the feckers on!!! These do up bottom to top and when I get halfway up my calf I have to squeeze and pull a bit... however can manage on my own...

Hmmmmm

Mine don't move & haven't gone baggy yet (1 year in Aug) but I don't wear them every day (I wear my wrecked manky leaking chaps coz the TS ones are too pretty!)

They definately do stretch a bit in time but the ankles shouldn't get any worse as they won't be under pressure. I'd be worried that you'd struggle so much to do them up when they're new if you go for a size smaller.

[/ QUOTE ]Tis what I was thinking.. just don't want the ankles to sag/bag!? Hmm... but don't want to restrict myself by going smaller as TBH the calfs fit lovely - tight enough to know they are on.. but not to tight to restrict blood!! LOL!

Have you got a friendly local saddler that might be able to put a dart in the bottom (on the outside) to get a snugger fit maybe?

[/ QUOTE ]Hmm do not mention the word saddler!!! LOL!!

Might speak with the Cobbler!! E is gunna get a expansion panel/slit out in the top of my Dubarrys.. so will go with and maybe take them with too... trouble is... I have to be careful as they fit snuggly over my joddys boots now... so can't have them too tight!?!

Can't advise on your problem, but I'd advise you to make sure you DO have the right size before soiling them - their customer service is shite & they don't give a hoot about helping you out if you have a problem. I chased & chased them about a repeated problem with the pop-stud being ripped off (which I paid to get repaired THREE times!) & they didn't give a hoot - I was reguarly emailing the Sales Manager who never bothered to reply. I'd never buy from them again!
