The saddle isn't treeless, it's part treed with the tree in the back to support the rider.
I bought a Fhoenix saddle a couple of months ago and it's worth every penny! My mare is a fussy, sensitive sod and se goes beatifully in it. The only downside is that when it's cold the seat is solid and it takes a good 10 minutes to warm up and go soft but once it is it moulds to your bum and it's soooooo comfy

I also find it very difficult to ride short in the saddle because I have the big knee blocks on it (you can take these off) and yur leg is put in the perfect position and this helps me when I ride in odinary saddles because I'm used to riding long and with my legs back.
If you have any more questions my PM box is always open.

I've got one, had it for a year and is the comfiest thing I've ever sat on. It's improved my position no end.

I think they are pricey but if you went for the butt hide flaps it would be harder wearing, the soft Italian leather probably isnt as robust.

I dont think they are right for people who are heavy for their horse if you get my drift and definitley suit those with a proper wither but really pleased with mine and so is the horse, I think!

I had one of the previous HM models - SBS flexion??
TBH I didn't like it. I felt very unsecure when going up and down steep hills out hacking, and if I had to get off to open a gate and then remount I was stuffed - Because no matter how tight the girth was done up it would slide right under the horses' belly - No mounting bocks out hacking I am afraid. In the end I was pleased to sell it on and have gone back to an Ideal Jessica which I am very happy with. I also found it hard to do dressage with it as because it was so wide I could not get my legs properly around my horse. My dressage inst at the time advised against it.

had a treeless now for about 18 months really love it, also friends who try it are impressed, just got back in from one of the longest hacks I have done for most of the winter and the only problem I am having is getting warm again!

Hiya

I have one of the old SBS Flexions and love it. I am a chunkier rider myself and ive not had any problems with it at all. My friend schools Gen to Medium level and competes at Elem level in it with no problems. Before this saddle I had a made to measure treed one and ended up with a horse with a very sore back. Ive had the SBS for about 2 years now its ridden in by Mike 4 times a week (5 if competing) and by me 2-3 times a week so its used a good amount. There is no sign of wear on it anywhere - even on the soft flaps. Ive ridden all over the place with it and even popped the odd small jump with no problem.

Im very happy with it and wouldnt bother going back to a treed one unless I really had to.

I think it comes down to personal choice and dont forget you can trial the Fheonix now, which I would def. recommend.

Yes me. I've got a Fhoenix Dressage saddle and love it - as do my neddies. Very comfy and puts you in the best position. It's beautifully made and you can get on from the ground without it slipping round - just make sure girth is firmly done and use plenty of spring i.e. you can't haul yourself up like you can get away with on treed saddles (but shouldn't be doing as its so bad for your horses' back).

I'd recommend one 100% for your horses' comfort and your own riding position.
