Sorry for another treeless post, I have a basic treeless saddle to try/buy cheap to see if it works etc.. My problem is saddle sits completely flat on my cobs back (like saddle pad I guess) it has no spine clearance the pad that comes with it doesn't give it much clearance either, so where to find a pad with thick pads/support without the spine being padded too, been told need couple fingers clearance only pads I find have little bits of foam/wool not giving anywhere near spine clearance I need.
Also do I stick a thin pad under the padded pad to stop sweat etc, as surely going to be a pain to wash and expecting them to be costly so won't have funds for many.

Mmmm, I got a nice pad on e-bay; worth having a look there. BUT make sure you buy a well-known brand, basically if they're too ashamed to put their name on it, avoid. The pad is THE most important thing with a treeless saddle, I was told by a friend who does a lot of endurance riding that if you're going to scrimp, don't do it with the pad as this is the thing that if you get it wrong, will cause no end of problems for your horse.

Will check eBay but as I'm so new I'm not 100% which are the great brands and the ok ones. Will check sites above, heard of barefoot not suber pads will google.

Ok after some looking I think I've found two pads that should work, which one would be best anyone got one? What you think?
Dream team pad or bareback special pad?
Though must admit found more anti tree post than pro, makes me hope I'm not making the wrong choice.

I might be wrong but I remember the Dream Team saddles having bad reviews on here - not sure about their pads though.

If your saddle has absolutely no spine clearance built within it (like the barefoot VPS system) then you may find that these pads still won't provide you with enough spine clearance... just a thought.

No clearance with saddle, if pad are a no go then I'm stumped:0( I've contacted ppl about trying different saddles but no one has responded as yet.
