Okay been reading some horsey mags a friend dropped by and have ridden her Highlands for her a few times and was rather taken with her Treeless Torsion saddles.

My question is - can one saddle really fit all my horses as they claim....? I have a 13.2hh 3 yo New Forest, a 15.2hh Arab x Cob mare and when tiddler grows up a 16hh Arab x Cob X hunter big coloured thing :D

Please someone educate me x

My torsion fits a 14.3 cob, no withers and very round and a high withered 16.2 tbx but doenst fit a 15.1 tbx with high withers and a short back.

Within reason they can fit most horses, but NOT all. The treeless' designed for flat wide horses will not suit narrow withered horses (who are really hard to fit treeless saddles to anyways).

They will probably need a bit of adjustament to the padding to get the balance and wither clearance right but your three horses sound fairly similar in build (fairly wide and flat) so one treeless saddle should fit them all.

however they don't sound like they're entirely witherless, like a highland pony, so a Torsion may not suit. There are other treeless styles to look at.

Have a look at solution saddles. They are a bit more pricey than Torsion but you are more liekly to be able to use them on any type of horse. They have a gullet and you just alter the padding underneath if you have one horse with a flat back and one with big withers.
