Hi there, for those of you with treeless saddle knowledge can someone confirm if the pomel sizing in a treeless saddle is similar to that of a treed saddle?? Ie. if my horses takes an xw gullet in a thorowgood t6, for example, would i need to put a xw pomel in my treeless saddle?? in particular a barefoot saddle. Thanks! If this is the case I assume (please correct me if I am wrong!!) that to keep the pommel off the withers I would need to suitably pad under the saddle and in particular the wither area (with the correct treeless numnah i might add!) Please can anyone confirm if this is the case or not! Thanks!!

From what I remember, there is a section on the Horse and Harmony website about measuring for the correct pommel - I think there is a template you can print out and use to measure your horse. I went with the wide insert for my cob in my cheyenne saddle.

I don't know where I found the template (was a couple of years ago now) but here is the link to their site http://www.horseandharmony.co.uk/barefoot-pommel-insert-594-p.asp
