I've recently acquired a treeless saddle and really like it - however I find it difficult to rise to the trot and end up doing a weird rocking thingy. I had no idea how much a treed saddle pushed you upwards/forwards. What should I be doing? M

Have no experience with treeless but remember doing rising trot bareback and endless sessions of rising trot without stirrups in my youngen days.would say as long as you are in rhythm you should be ok no need to lift out of saddle too far?

Are you sure it fits ok. I had one treeless that was hard to rise in and it turned out to be lifting up behind as I rose and it gave my horse a sore back.

I now ride in a different treeless and it doesn't move at all. No different to trot in than a normal saddle.

Spam.

It could be that the saddle needs a shim pad to lift it at the back - if the saddle is sloping downhill you will be struggling to climb up that hill :D. Not limited to treeless saddles but perhaps more easily felt in them as they are flatter on the whole.
