Treeless saddle

hi,im thinking i might buy a english style treeless saddle,anyone got one or used one,and do i need a saddle pad,my pony is 2 years old,i wont be riding her yet, she is welch sec d,juct want her to get used to haveing something on her back,she had had a roller on with gell pad thanks

Mmmm, why do you want a treeless as such? If you just want her to get used to a saddle why don't you use an old saddle (that fits!) for the few times you want a saddle on her and then get her properly fitted in a couple of years when you back her?

I wouldn't put a cheap treeless anywhere near a horse. I currently have a heather moffett phoenix. I love it and my flat backed no withers native loves it. Not a cheap option though.

I also wouldn't buy a saddle for her yet as she will change shape before you back her, so anything you buy now is unlikely to fit properly in a year or two's time. Why not see if someone has an old saddle you could borrow for the time being?
