theres another one which is a news report, it says steve swam over the stingray, possibly not knowing it was there as he was filming something else, and the barb went up and through his chest and into his heart

its a shame he was one very different bloke i think i admired him heaps just for his sheer courage... and him being a comic

He WAS a great guy...and brave, but in all honesty, his work was an accident waiting to happen.

He will be sorely missed, not least of his wife and family.
