Trickle net? Alternatives?

I’ve used a trickle net in the past and was very impressed- it did the job, slowed down my greedy horse and the net seemed indestructible although the actual rope string snapped.

Unfortunately I gifted it to a friend when I gave up horses and I know she uses it so it feels cheeky to ask for it back.

I need a couple more for my new chunky cob but before I go part with around £60 for 2 nets I thought I’d check if there are now any decent alternatives on the market at a lower price?

I’d recommend Martsnets slow feeders. They are excellent and hard wearing. Don’t bother with Elimanets, the holes are the same size as a normal net.

Have a look at Nibbleze Nets. They are about £25 each for the largest size, can be used from the floor for horses without shoes and come with a repair kit. I have used mine every day for the last 6 or 7 months and have only just had to patch it. I've been very impressed!

I use the nibbleze nets (usually on the floor as unshod) they are really soft and knotless so would seem not to stand up to much but one has had at least 18 months of daily use - he has to have his hay loose now due to teeth issues so it hasn't disintegrated just stopped using it!

I actually found with him the larger hole nets slowed him down plenty when he didn't have anything to pull against because it was on the floor, I bought a small hole one with the intention of giving him both other night but didn't need to (it was used successfully for a very greedy section A for whom double netting in small hole nets wasn't working!
