Salem has been with us since a pup (now 2 years old) so I know all his history.

He mouthed a sock the other day when I was getting dressed.

"Eugh" I said, "Soggy Socks."

He gave me that "German Shepherd look" and went NUTS!

Ran around and became quite hysterical!

My other dog just looked embarrased by him.

I have no idea where this comes from!

Nutter.

Jake had a lot of trigger phrases: 'do...' meant either walk or food so he would go crazy.

OH taking off his glasses meant bedtime and a treat so cue the madness!

'Fox' meant go crazy, run up the garden as fast as possible.

'Kiss' was lick on the nose

'Give' meant paw in hand

He had a major thing for nicking socks for attention because he knew not to take them, so he'd show me he had one then conceal it under his chest and lie on it to get attention-so funny!

I'm amazed at how many words that dog knew! Poor Brig, as my Dad says, he's lost half his brain: he always used to take his cue from what Jake was doing and is now in a confused world where he doesn't quite know how to cope!

We always say, 'Otto, do you want...'

...to go for a walk - cue made rushing to the front door

...to go outside - cue mad rushing to the back door

...your dinner - cue mad rushing to the cupboard we keep his food in

Basically anything you say can often trigger mad rushing around! :D

Ours are...

'Squirrell' - this sends them all flying through the dog flap into the garden

'Walk' and 'Park' - elicits silly excited behaviour and wimpering

'Tea' - this is Loki's cue word for having his supper (the girls dont get a supper meal), it makes him run into the kitchen and stand by the utility room door (where his food is kept)

Unfortunately my brother is called Mark, which obviously rhymes with park so we get alot of false alarms!! :D:D

"Is Timmy down the well?" (Do you need to go outside)

"Tinkle Tinkle" (Pee, now - don't just stand there and look at me")

"What's this?" (very very scary reprimand)

Going to the loo means I am about to walk them.

Picking up a plastic bag also means I am about to walk them.

Hubby getting up from his PC and putting on his coat also means a walk.
