Trimming hairy feathers

How would you trim a cobs hairy feathers off? I used scissors and a comb last year but looked very odd especially as i didnt know what to do with he long bits at the front.

Hold comb horizontal. Starting at heel push comb upwards & trim across until you reach top. The key is to cut only a very little hair each time so you avoid the step effect. If they're v long I'd hack the worst of it off first so you can see what you're doing. Use a comb again to trim a line round coronet band, if its thick hair I trim it at an angle so it doesn't have a thick step. And lots of practice mostly
