Not one of my horses (for once)

11 yo Welsh C, pony club type, on full loan

Has always been sound as a pound without shoes and in hard work, but loan home decided to shoe her this summer as exceptionally hard ground, etc. She's been shod since May. Pony has recently started tripping when she walks. Tripped on a hack the other week and almost had the girl off (went both on both knees). Tripped again during a lesson. Jumping is less forward going than before; e.g. she trots in the middle of a double and then catleaps out. Apparently tripping getting worse. Could this be symptomatic of all the hard ground we've been having? I gently suggested she might be overjumped (loaners don't have a school so jumping in paddocks - been like concrete for weeks) but was not so politely told where to put it.
Don't care for loaners, but do know the owner so don't just want to let it drop (loaners on my yard - owner is a friend!).

Just balance adjustment .My boy was three last year i bought him and he was fully shod , a week prior to purchase for me,i found he tripped in walk alot we were then on clay soli so he lost shoes and i had them taken off and went barefoot, issue sorted ! Just had him fully shod recently this year first week ,s tumbles so hacked out a lot in walk that week hes brill now just persevere give time to adjust, i had to shoe my boy due to hard ground, he had a back issue and wernt 100% sure but clutching at straws one theory was hard ground was effecting his back , its hard everywere at the moment and increased workload ,might be worth getting chiropracter out too he did say my boys pelvis was out slightly he did his magic, i rode and he visited again yesterday .Must say had vet out too she didnt have a clue and vet cost me too !

It could be down to incorrect foot balance. Are you able to have a sneaky look at the feet and see what they are like without upsetting the loaners? Maybe the interval between shoeings needs shortening or the toes are being left too long.

Sneaky look I shall have!

I know I'm being a busy body, but would hate for my friend to be randomly handed back a broken pony and she's right in front of me so I do feel it's a little bit my responsbility to at least keep an eye.
