So we have had our ID mare for a year she’s been backed for just longer than a year. We found that she was tripping a little between shoeings and Brough the showing date forward by a week and this has helped although the week prior to shoeing she does occasionally trip. Sometimes it’s catching a toe and sometimes it’s almost as though she leaves the leg behind. It’s not all the time. It’s never out hacking or in the field - only the arena. We rolled her toes. She passed a 5 stage vetting. She is slightly pigeon toed and wonder if some of its because she’s holllow and daughters position is a bit forward. I do have a video but it won’t let me upload

No idea if the same but thought I'd mention my boy used to trip terribly in front when shod especially towards the end of his 6 week shoeing cycle. When videoed and played back in slow mo he was very much a toe first landing.

I have since removed his shoes he moves so much better and very rarely trips these days.

Before removing his shoes I improved tge tripping with lots of raised poles - well actually I used to go off track in the forestry and he'd have to pick his way through all the fallen trees/branches really got him picking up his feet and thinking where to put them back down
