As per the title - thinking of buying 3 month subscription as a gift for a friend. Friend is an experienced but slightly nervous rider ( confident on the ground) and new horse is quite young, green and generally steady but not very respectful & can be spooky and nervous. Friend likes a soft and gentle approach, open to new ideas and training options and aspires to Rc level dressage and fun shows. Not keen on jumping. Friends has lost some confidence in horse due to some quite erratic and seemingly random spooks/ mini bolts( just half a dozen strides) in school and hacking. Will not sell horse and prepared to work and improve and is having lessons to help general riding. Would TRT be a good option?
Thanks

I looked into it a while ago out of curiosity, seemed ok but I didn't pay for a subscription. He has a few free videos online, I felt they went on a bit too long for my liking (but I have the attention span of a gnat)

My old instructor uses it quite a lot and rates it.

Yes do it! It has a lot to offer for spooky/nervous horses and what it does well is give a consistent method and teaches you to notice and reward calmness - which lots of good horse people do naturally but few teach!
What is does less well is teach that progress is progress and it might take time .... his horses are all beautifully bred with good nutural movement - the cobs found the movements harder.
Nothing there that would go against a classical dressage approach and failing a great teacher really worth a months subscription and take it from there!!

I paid for the course because I thought it was a brilliant method. Unfortunately I couldn't watch any of the videos due to buffering. I emailed them to make them aware but wasn't offered a refund of any sort . A lot of money for nothing.

Another option might be to get your friend a session with a trainer who uses the TRT method, such as Claire Gallimore? Having seen it in action, I am not sure that TRT Method is much more than a repackaging (albeit a very slick repackaging) of a number of fairly well-trodden things which exist already so I wouldn't want to pay for just access to videos...but coupled with flatwork training it seems to produce some good results.

I am a subscriber and have been since about March.

Honestly, it has made the world of difference to my stressy, spooky horse. I have tried other natural horse type things before but never had much luck. The TRT method had an immediate impact on Chester.

When I started to investigate the method I watched some of the youtube clips a tried it out but the course is much more in depth, shows different reactions on different horses and how to deal with it.
