Odd title didn't know how else to put it lol.

My new horse (jack) is quite fizzy and doesn't really trot he goes pretty much walk-canter.

Can anyone suggest schooling techniques i can do to help him slow down, chill out and TROT!!

He's really sweet otherwise, he was in a pelham (straight bar), hes now in a jointed snaffle so he can't lean on my hands.

thanks peeps. x

Lunge him, let him canter a little, then ask for trot...
Or you could long rein him on a circle to ask for trot.
When riding, if you want trot, keep a definite up down up down rhythm in rising trot and refuse to stop - don't just sit into an unwanted canter.
And practice half halting so you can rebalance him.
Good luck.
