I took Delicia to hersecond ever show on sunday, Trottiscliffe annual show and entered the in hand riding horse and ridden riding horse.
Delicia was good as gold, performing fantastically in teh first class, pulle din 3rd position out of 21 entrees in the initial line up before individual show and maintain this position throughout the class, finishing 3rd out of 21, judge commenting on the standard of the entries, won a £5 gift voucher for the tack shop i work in and won 2 lovely rossetes. I had a 2 1/2 out gap till my ridden show, the last of the day so D had time to chill out and relax, then it was time, delicias first ridden show ever.

Well she was very naughty in the begining, joggin rather than walking, whipping aorund in canter she got very hot and marish in the group presentation, not liking other horses so close to her, but she soon settles in the line up, drawn 8th out of 14 in the beginning, performed a beautiful individual show with lovely canters and she gave the ride judge a fantastic ride (she commented in delicias power and beautiful paces

), did the walk and trot in hand for the ground judge before retacking and remounting with help from steward, we were sent away in a group to walk around the ring, delicia was striding out beautifully, eating up the moment and we were finally drawn 4th, QUALIFYING FOR BALANCED HORSE FEEDS RIDING HORSE FINALS AT PACASHAM IN SEPTEMBER!!! I was thrilled and agast!!! The judges loved her and gave me some helpful tips! I still cnat belive it, we jumped up 4 spaces, i am thrilled!!!

some pics are attached!

Well done you! Delicia looks gorgeous, I'm not surprised the judges liked her.

A friend went with her child and did the first ridden. She said the standard of the showing was very high and there were lots of entries. I imagine the fact that it was a qualifier attracted a number of them.

Funnily enough I nearly popped in for a look. I was taking my sister in law to heathrow and drove past the entrance to the show, but didn't in the end. Wish I had now, I might have seen your triumph!

Well done, what a great day.

Are there any other shows nearby coming up do you know?

Well done - that's fantastic and what a beautiful mare

Just a few little tips for the championship (please feel free to ignore me!!):

try to wear a tweed if possible as it's more correct for Riding horse classes.

Lose the numnah and balance strap unless they're absolutely essential.

Put your hair up in a bun, put hair net around it and a scrunchie to match your browband (the purple looks fab on her).

Brown gloves if possible and if you can borrow a hat with a leather harness it would completethe picture

Good luck with the championship x

i need the balance strap for me and delicia cannot stand the saddle without the numnah :O i tried :S unsuccessfully

Well done you! We're reasonably local, being in Meopham. Didn't know the show was on otherwise I would have popped in for a look. Due to lack of transport (and also I haven't done a show for years) we can only look out for local hacking distance stuff to participate in, and there's not really much around
