I have some friends that are having terrible trouble with there horse insurance. I looked on the internet and the same company has really bad form. It appears that when you put in your claim they will do there best to avoid payying out. Not sure if I can say who they are. Is anyone else getting the same problem with there inusrance company. Glad to say I am not with this company as I was told how bad they are at payying out. If you've had megga problems, how did you deal with it? Are there any websites to look on for help? Any info gladly received and I will pass on to friends. thx

If it's a company who's name is made of two letters of the alphabet separated with an ampersand then they don't have the best of reputations

I thinkn I know what comp you mean if its same one I heard nothing but bad, A girl on the yard i was on was a soliciter and she had been waiting over a year for her claim so she got someone she worked with to send them a letter they finally paid up after that.

I think every one who has tried to claim with them has had problems. I always asks the vets who pays out when I go for a new company. We pay these insurances so we do not have to fork out vast sums of money. With this company your better off putting money aside every month rather than using them

I don't believe vets are legally allowed to make any recommendations regarding insurance....however, mine was very helpful in answering any questions i had

I use petplan and they were great they paid out for my mares colic surgery just under 3 weeks and I had only been with them for 2 months, they also paid out for a gelding I had who needed angleberrys removed. A lot of my friends are with nfu and they are also good.

Mine recommended NFU, also SEIB and BEIB - though i think the 2 latter may have a excess of 17% of the vet bills - so if you have a large bill you pay a lot more than mosts £150 excess

Had to make a claim with them, it started off a bit hairily (and the bill had to be paid up front to the vets after finding out who the horse was insured with, not very easy to just make ££££ appear) and there was umming and ahhing over that it couldn't be paid by them, but sent a couple of letters (very well worded!) and the claim did get settled. Was made in early September and paid out January.

I was with these and they were terrible, TBH i don't know how they keep going. One claim i made it took the 9 months to pay up and the claim was only around £500. I'm now with Aims and they have been fantastic, they are also very reasonably priced.

I guess they stay in buisness because they don't pay out unless you badger them. They are the most advertised insurance company I know. Surprise Horse n Hound has'nt received any complaints cause they advertise there..!!
I think this company should be looked into by watchdog or something. ANY SUGGESTIONS ANY ONE?????

This company has been on Watchdog and Thats life (showing my age now)for not paying up!As has been said don't know how they keep going.Yes a few people use them but majority of horsey peeps know to steer well clear.
Don't think it helps you get them in 'horsey' mags as new to horses folk might see this as some sort of endorsment (know its not but people look and think well its advertised in horsey mag so must be ok)
To be honest they have such a bad rep you'd think they'd at least change name!!I would!!

DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THIS (I Guess at name) COMPANY..............3 months I have hassled them to pay out on a simple claim for 3rd party....with their insured having already admitted liability and them just pi***ing around trying to delay paying me!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrh I can't stand them...they have caused me so much stress and in the end I totally lost it with them on the phone big style...and low and behold...within an hour later, they phone me to say they will have a chq to me in 5 days!!!!
I think they mess you about and some people give up and go away...so they loose a few that way.

my horses and lorry are with SEIB...i actually heard my vet talking to another livery about the company in question and was obvious from what he was saying that they have also had problems with them coughing up

With NFU and NEVER had any problems!

Woudl suggest your friend gets a solicitor to help you with the company with no name but we all know who it is!!!!

They never pay out! Excuses given to customer last year was a fire!!!!

No name company has been on watchdog before.........maybe they need to go on again!
