Following on from my 'Should I be worried?' post, here are some pictures of him from the weekend. My Dad has quite a few more on his camera, but he has not sent them to me yet

This was him on 7th October when he had been weaned one week... I can see a difference by where his withers are on my shoulder

He is so much bigger than his friend...

But he is also a scruffy boy!

What worries me is the pics against the fencing when his bum is way above the top rail and he is not even stood up properly!!!

dont worry too much hun, YOs proset yearling grew loads in the first year, and the other yearling it was with looked tiny - the other yearling has now caught up with it and the Pro one has hardly grow much at all rencently.

He looks great tho

The rugs dont look to be fitting that well round either of their necks? 1st, 2nd & 5th photo's, I have to be honest with the shelter those feilds look like they have I dont think I would have rugged just yet. Only an observation not critising.

Troy was really feeling the cold, especially as the weather has been so wet here, so they asked me to take up a light weight rug for him and he is now a much happier little boy. He was stood shivering and they had to keep bringing him in when really I wanted him out. He is not great at being wet, he used to throw a complete wobbler when he was wet before living out.

It isn't the best fit because it is a horse rug as opposed to a foal rug (it is 5'9" rug as the 5'3" was miles too small for him) and a bit deep in the neck area for him.

Then get your plaiting thread out and alter the neck line. That's what I always do for rugs for youngsters! I either take darts either side of the shoulders or one at the wither and sew the flap down, on the outside of the rug, to minimalise rubbing. I have literally just finished doing H's next rug!

As I said I was not critising just an observation as if the rug does not fit correctly it can cause other issues. He could end up with problems in his withers as well as rubbing. If it is uncomfortable for him, it may put him off wearing a rug in the future.

My only experience with a showing machine was when I ended up with a needle through my finger and spent 7 hours in A&E because they couldn't get it out!!!
