Got this on TV right now...and on wanting to buy 'Little Blackie', she says a rhyme regarding a buying a horse with white feet....

1, buy him
2, try him
3, be on the sly
4, pass him by

:D

...so tell me, does this ring true with your white-footed beasties?

3 of mine have a white foot each and they are awesome horses.

:D

My Dad has a different theory - horses should have four matching legs - so only no socks or four whites will do. He made it up to annoy me when we were watching the racing once and he picked the horse he was backing by using his theory. Flipping horse was Istabaq before the Champion Hurdle! He now of course has proof about his theory and regularly tells me that only one of my horses is any good (grey filly has no socks/white hooves) as the others don't have matching hooves/legs (TB mare has a white heel and the other two have white on three legs).

I have to say I do prefer their feet to come in pairs, it seems especially important with their fronts, if I could I'd make every horse have both front feet the same colour! Odd coloured feet seem to need exceptional hoof care to keep them even, anything less and their hooves seem to get more and more out of kilter.
