So today decided to go for a hack to the ford , it involved lots of road work and a bit off road . So I took my 4 year old ISH X.

I bought him after my 5 year old Welsh D took all my confidence , he was bargy , spooky and unpredictable .

So anyway off we set on my boy , we passed a motorbike on the way as well as lots of cars and cyclists , eventually got there though !

So went for a splash in the ford , he loves the water so couldn't wait to get in. We found a log by a bank that we jumped over then jumped straight into the water it was great fun ! Then whilst we trotted around we had lots of dogs trying to play , so my boy joined in with them trotting around .
Then met a woman who was terrified of horses who asked if she could touch him as he gave her a look with his lovely eyes , she was so pleased that she had finally over come her fear !

Then eventually we set off home , just up the road ( very narrow ) we were passed by 30 Harley Davidsons !! My boy just stood still whilst they passed . I honestly thought that he would have a heart attack but he was brilliant !

Last but not least we hacked home right next to the railway .... And met the train flying at around 60mph , but no he was not distracted at all and carried on down the road with me like normal :D

So Pleased with him , I know how hard it is to trust a horse especially after having such a lot of nasty incidents with a previous horse.

Here's some pics of him ...

ahh lovely post - it struck me what a lovely honest and trusting face he has... what a lovely boy and here is to many more lovely hacks and experiences together!

Lovely horse! Horses with problems really wear you down and take the fun out of it (as rewarding as it is when they come right!) , it is such a relief to get one that is honest and tries hard :)

enjoy !

Sounds like a brilliant hack and what a gorgeous, honest horse. I know what it's like to appreciate being able to go for a nice straightforward hack after losing your confidence.

Thanks for posting and well done to you both. He has a very kind eye and I think he knows his job is to get your confidence back and look after you which is just lovely and I have one just like that ... its amazing isn't it :D

Just lovely. What a horse and what a lovely hack you seemed to have. Maybe he could have a word with mine who panicked big style today when he thought the bushes were going to eat him and did a bucking rocking horse impersonation. While he's at it he can explain to the other twit that extra thick white lines don't eat horses

Well done and lovely horse.
