Does any one use one... I’m struggling a bit for motivation and could do with some more lessons to help but struggling to find a coach I get on with atm .. was thinking of trying an app to bridge the gap - any good ones out there or are they just a gimmick?

I just downloaded the Ridely app

It appears to be free videos and lesson plans.

I havent figured out where the search function is on it so I'm a bit bewildered by that.

From what I can tell you can build your own lesson plans and goals re competing. It only has two western videos on it so I've not looked at it too intensely and yeah the search function thing.

Dont know if that's the kind of thing you're looking for

Joe Midgely has a subscription service, The Good Horsemanship Channel, where there are groundwork, ridden and educational videos. If you subscribe to premium (think its £7pm) you can send him videos and he'll give you feedback and a lesson plan from what I can gather
