Trying new bits

How long do you give when trying new bits? Is it an instant nope or a few rides?
Im trying to find a bit for my horse, but I keep hitting a nope instantly from him, I think I need to get a bitting expert out to help.
If any suggestions he is ID, normal mouth but bigger tongue, very soft mouth, polite but stuggles to take a contact - hates Verbiand (sp!), single jointed, ported mullen mouth, next to try Myler bits.

No advice with what to try next but mine was an almost instant difference - certainly by the end of the first session with it

No help with what to try either, sorry. However my mare was the same as Love and I saw an almost immediate difference & acceptance.

Although the bit change was only slight the bit fitter saw it immediately and I, the rider, felt it too.
