I knew it would not be an easy task trying to find a pony, all I want is 11hh to 12.2hh, ideal section A but not too fussy on that score.

Crikey, I m loosing the will to live, was due to go and look at a pony today, but at the 11th hour owner texts to say that a friend is now having pony!!!!!!!

They seem to be as rare as rocking horse s..t :(

Oh i feel for you, it took me 6 months to find my daughters pony, they are like golddust!!!
Im not sure but youve prob tried the pony club website. But i also searched all the local pony club websites as the seperate branches each have there own classified section, you prob have already tried but if not worth a go.
I hope you find the perfect pony. The right one will come along evtually, Im really glad i held out anf got the pony i did as hes worked out brillietly. It just took hours of driving up and the country!!!!!

I had one advertised but decided that we just couldn't part with him. He went out on loan at Christmas and I was inundated with calls for him.

All I can say is that you are not alone. Not by far. Sooo many people told me that they had travelled the country to find ponies that ended up being completely unsuitable/unsafe. What struck me was the amount of people who are totally dishonest about what they are selling. It is such a shame and in MO crazy when you are selling to a small child. People don't seem to have any morals.

I wish you luck in your search - the market seems to be flooded at the moment due to the current market so I expect there will be even more advertised as perfect then normal. :(

Well my sister has one for sale but is unbroken and I guess you're looking for one that's been there and got the t-shirt:D
Well I say unbroken but she's had saddle, bridle on done abit of long-reining and lunging but is alittle too small for me to break unfortunately.:)

Hi there - what are you looking for?
I have a 12hh dartmoor pony for sale at the moment that may be suitable?
PM me if prefered.

A friend of mine has a 12hh coloured gelding. 12 years. First ridden or lead rein. Done all PC activities. Easy to do, kids do him. I think she is looking for £600? Totally outgrown. Let me know if you are interested.

Well if that is your only requirement then I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a pony. However, if in addition to that you want it to be not too young, not too old, to have no health problems or vices, to be a saint for a child to ride, and perhaps have county level conformation, then you might be looking for a bit longer, especially if you don't have much of a budget!

The good ones tend to change hands via word of mouth. I have one that is now with her 4th family (on loan as I won't sell) I have never had to advertise when she has been ready to move on - there is always a waiting list for her - a friend of a friend has "booked" her next as her son is only 1.5 and by the time the current family have finished with her (now on 2nd child) he will be ready for her. I would ask everyone you know and speak to the local pc dc's as so many of these paragons never get advertised.

I feel your pain!! took us ages to find our pony, and in the end we found him through our instructor who works for the Pony Club. The family had outgrown him and initially just wanted someone to come and ride him which my daughter did over the summer holidays and took him to camp, now that they have seen that he will have a lovely home with us they have said we can buy him which we are really happy about. We have had to alter our requirements slightly, pony is older that i really wanted to buy (20's) has a touch of COPD and is a grumpy little bugger to handle!! but our daughter has come on leaps and bounds with him and he really is one in a million. Keep looking, email the secretary of your local PC as i know our one keeps a list of ponies for loan or sale, ask any instructors you know, put wanted ads at your local tack shop, you will get there eventually!! Good Luck!
