I'm trying to find a rather specific hackamore.
I've tried my boy in a flower hackamore to try and stop him flinging his head when we jump, and to my delight it works! He's definitely more relaxed in it, but the only problem is it's simply not quite strong enough for him (if it helps he was in a Dutch gag before with the reins on the ring directly under the bit ring - not the bottom one) and although I've found several English hackamores all of them have rather longer shanks than I want.
Don't know if the image will work, but I basically want one of these:

So if anyone knows where I can find one about that length that would be great!
Also, does anybody know where I can get a sheepskin cover for the curb?

Ideally looking for online but can go to tack stores in the West Midlands
I'm not going to go into a debate about whether or not I should use a hackamore, I just want to find one that will be suitable ☺️

Cheers all!

The different angles of the photos makes the shank length look different but it you measure from the top of the cheekpiece area of the hackamore to the bottom of the lowest of the three holes and then from the bottom of the lowest of the three holes to the top of the rein hole on each you'll see the proportions are identical.

As for covers, there are any number of sellers on ebay that sell cut to length Velcro=fastened sheepskin tubes.

It is possible, with a lot of pulling and a second person with a blunt knife to hold the rubber open, to get a rubber curb chain guard onto the hackamore. The rubber guards are sold everywhere.

I have one of those. If you don't find one let me know as I'll sell it, just need to dig it out and check condition and size.
