I'm looking at buying a horse and there is a name of a vet on the passport that did the initially vetting of the horse and documented the animal details. The signature is ineligible but there is a 4 letter number preceeded by BP. Can I find the vet from this number? Does anyone know what this number is?

Why don't you contact the Royal Vet Colledge/Society? They will be able to tell you who it is.

Actually you can look up vets yourself on their website too so that might be worth a try.

The signature is fairly illegible. I've tried their website and cannot find it. I'm interested in what the BP number is? Does anyone know of this

I've just looked on all my passports - several different issuers - and on not one is there a 4 digit number with or without BP. They all have stamps with names and addresses of the practices, with a vets signature.

Is the passport a UK one?
