I have had all my horses on Tumeric/linseed/pepper for a couple of months now and have seen good results. I am thinking of taking it myself after reading that it can aid weight loss. Has anyone lost weight whilst taking it?

There was someone on the Facebook group who complained of weight gain after taking. I think the consensus was that she was actually gaining weight due to making a sort of turmeric milk shake with loads of sugar and other bad stuff...! So if you take it for this reason, be careful of what you have with it...

I haven't followed any of the discussion about it but I can tell you that I probably eat more turmeric per week than most white English women (obsession with experimental/ home made curries) and it certainly hasn't done anything to help me lose weight!

I don't know about it working for weight loss but I know a wonderful little feel good drink recipe including tumeric which is great to take before bed.

Chamomile teabag
teaspoon of honey (I use manuka as I think it's magical but regular is fine)
generous squeeze of lemon juice
a couple of pinches of tumeric
a couple of pinches of ground ginger or fresh grated ginger
add boiling water :)

Try it :D great for skin, digestion etc.

Has anybody used tumeric for pain relief ?, it has been recommended to me for sore joints and muscle pain following chemotherapy treatment.

My late husband took it in pill form (purchased from Healthspan) when he was recovering from chemo, that and multi vitamins. He flew through his chemo, going walking in the lakes right after treatment. Certainly worth a try. I would also highly recommend acupuncture, especially if you are feeling tired and run down.

I've used it for pain relief due to psoriatic arthritis, it did work as it is an anti inflammatory BUT after about three months my boobs started feeling very tight and tender. (I'm beyond menopausal and was then as well) They recovered a few days after I stopped taking it and I haven't been inclined to restart as a result. I'd also suggest acupuncture and homeopathy...it might take a few weeks to establish the best remedy for you but once done it has reduced the amount of painkillers I take by at least half.

I started taking it two weeks ago and my elbows are no longer tender. I have psoriasis and I'm hoping it'll help that. So far my patches has definitely calmed down and there a lot less scaling. A large patch on my leg is definitely clearing up. I so want it to work as Ive thrown everything it it over the years and nothing works for long ..if at all. I mix mine with cocoanut oil and roll into pellets so I can wash down with water and bit have to taste it. I made a mistake of just taking it off a spoon yesterday and ended up with a very yellow tongue :D so far I'm not smelling of curry.

I've been making turmeric tea, recipes vary but I've been simmering it for ten minutes as this was the first recipe I found. Pretty rough to drink but I'm sure it's helping my aches and pains.

You brave :) it took me ages to wash the taste away after yesterday's dose .. Making it into pellets highly recommended. Just make sure they're small enough to swallow easily. At my first attempt I almost choked as I made one big round pellet which stuck in my throat..

I gave it to the dog and he seemed pain free quite quickly. It's recommended for arthritic symptoms and there are studies (google if interested) re cancer treatment using turmeric. I'm not convinced, although India has a much lower incidence of cancer and is the world's biggest turmeric user, but I'm sure there are lots of other factors!

I put it in my soup for lunch and definitely noticed the difference when I stopped, it really helps with joint pain and energy levels.
