I haven't for joint issues but I did for headshaking (had read that the anti inflammatory properties could help). I was trying a few different things at the same time so can't say whether or not it worked for me.

A friend did for joint issues and he did look wonderful on it. She made her own paste with linseed oil and he looked fantastic. Although that may have been the linseed more than the turmeric!

I used one from Burwood which is stocked in my local feed store. It was in powder form but had already been mixed with linseed oil so was very convenient.

I have a 24 year old that can get a bit stiff she has had turmeric in her feed for 10 years never had lameness since unless it is forgotten now use turmeraid but will likely go back on the powder at some point. You need three times as much micronised linseed to powdered turmeric and a teaspoon of freshly ground pepper for it to work well

Just wanted to say for anyone who has watched this post, my nearly 28 year old mare is now off bute altogether on a turmeric supplement and back to the fitness levels she was at last year. Rear shoes off, which I also think has helped, but back to the feisty active horse she always used to be!

That's great news ? I'm looking at this thread as have decided to put my 11 year old mare on a turmeric supplement a precaution - our damp climate here in Ireland plays havoc with the joints ?

My vet put one of mine on BozMerix to help with hock arthritis treatment. I was impressed and put aged doddery shitland on it - OMG - she's like a foal! Bucking and broncing, no stiffness. It's not cheap but I'm a convert and have now put TB on it as well.

Interesting - I googled this out of curiosity - first impression was a heart attack at the price - though I guess if you fed the ingredients separately the cost would add up. So it's a combination of extra- bioavailable curcurmin, ASUs, boswellia and omega 3.

Yep but I have been lucky to get the first 3 boxes on insurance. Also after 6 boxes you get one free. One sachet does the shetland for 4 days and the big ones were on a sachet a day to start but now on 1/2 a day and still fine so doesn't work out too bad, smells divine and no hassle.

Mine hasn’t seemed stuff since she has been on it. I get the one with black pepper added as it’s meant to help the uptake of the nutrients or something fancy like that

I think I'm not going to bother going forwards. Its hard to assess if it works with my horse as she's on joint supplement and bute anyway. At first I thought it did work but now I'm not so sure.
As we think her front end lameness is coming from a congenital defect in her neck I don't think it will make the slightest bit of difference and she's been on it about a year and she's lame again so its a bit of a loser to be honest.
