Someone has asked me how much I would charge to do turn out and muck out of their 3 horses....and I have no clue!! Would be a good wee extra job for me....how much is the kind of average for that kind of thing?

I charge £5 for muck out including hay and water and £2 for turn out including rugs boots etc so maybe £15 to £20 for regular job also depending on how hard beds are to do ( would be less if thin bed on rubber mats), how far field is away can you take 2 together etc. I try and work out how long jobs will take me then pay myself £10 an hour. This is on my own yard would want more to cover travel if off the yard.

I’ve no idea how much turnout costs as I’m on part livery but if i want to upgrade to full livery it is £5 per day and that is essentially just adding mucking out to my current package

Is it on the yard you're already on 9r do you have to travel there? My old yard used to charge £4.50/horse for turnout or bring in, and about £5.50 for muck out. I have a lady who comes to my place who charges £20/visit then £12 for each hour over and above the first hour.

It’s £9 per day Monday to Friday and if there’s a rug to change, that’s an extra £1. Weekends is £13 per day. This includes turnout, muck out, hay and water and bring in and feed. Don’t forget, if you’re handling other’s horses, insurance needs to be taken into account. If it’s just mucking out, then that’s not a consideration. I think our prices are a bit on the cheap side compared to some. It’s the convenience that’s being paid for, not necessarily the amount of work involved imo. 🤷‍♀️

I charge £ 4 muck out for a livery turning out £ 1.50 to including rug change but if the field is a long way then I would charge more, also depends if you have to travel soelly for these horses
