I'm at a loss as to the right decision to make..
My mare hates being put in the field alone (naturally) however no one on the yard is turning out for some reason... I know the weather has been bad but its passing now and she's been in for 2 weeks already and I'm starting to worry about her. She's showing no signs of vices or health issues (yet) but I don't want to leave it any longer. However when I did turn her out for the first time yesterday, she was a mess because was by herself, she sweated up and was very stressed. Do I ignore it and keep turning her out and be firm about it or do I leave her in so she's with the others. She'd be brought in in the evening and turned out in the morning.. When I muck her out she has a wander around but nothing like she should be doing. I am a very firm believer in turn out but also her feelings.. What do you think I should do?

If its temporary you just might have to keep her in until the situation gets better or you keep persevering with the turnout in the hope she settles. Can't you ask if another livery is willing to put there horses out with her.

I was at a yard once where no one put there horses out all winter, luckily both mine are fine alone so they just had a massive field to themselves all winter.

I have spoken to a livery and they are turning out soon.. I just wondered on peoples views on how to deal with a horse that doesn't like being left out even though they need to be.
Thank you for your kind answer ?

If she’s happy enough in, and is getting plenty of ridden exercise then I wouldn’t overly worry about it.

Turnout should be with friends unless they’re happy to be alone as some are. I wouldn’t risk an injury from a stressed horse when it’s only temporary that she will be in.
