Just a quickie as meant to be getting caught up on work before disappearing to France for the rest of the week

Turnberry is by far our closest event and with the postponement making it possible for us to get there we put in late entry for the BE100plus class. The OH & Echo having been trying to have a second go at a Novice ever since their first one at Eglinton but the weather gods have been conspiring against them so this was the next best thing.

Dressage was curate's egg like - good in places - but with a couple of moves that the Spanish Riding school would be proud of in the Medium canter & a general air of unsettledness. Mark of 40.5 was fair enough but huge

that this was lying in 3rd after the dressage.

Show jumping was fine started extremely small & finished with a good sized oxer. For the first time ever the rider listened to the trainer/groom/owner who mentioned that the stride from the 2nd last to last was a little odd & told him to ride forward - oppsss cue 4 faults

XC was extremely straightforward with the exception of a double of offset brushes which were closely proceeded by another combination. These brushes were probably a question enough in their own right without the addition of needing to be in control from the previous fence. Anyway Echo is pretty cool at such things and popped round everything with a large smile on his face:

After some family discussion about whether he would be needed at the prizegiving we ventured over for a look to find out he had WON!!

Very happy, its always nice to have a win & this horse has had 2 x 2nds & 2 x 3rds so he was due a win.

We were amused to be interviewed for the Scottish Farmer magazine because Andrew is a scottish farmer!! Hopefully that isnt all the good luck used up prior to next week's BE100Regional Final!

How fantastic! Hope the trainer/groom/owner is on hand though to make sure that the male winning ego doesn't get out of hand

Ha, ha that is well beyond my capabilities, too late for that. Horse & rider both think they are the bees knees

Endless......

Wow, that is fantastic! I am however of the opinion that it is not good for OHs to win too often as it makes them ever so slightly unbearable at home..

Well done to all

Noodlejaffa: naughty Mr Hamilton has a big mouth. I told him 6 & he did it in 6. I am surprised Mr H admitted that to anyone, after all he has taught me plenty. But it seems he has taught me nothing at all!!!!! Well done to you.

Nic, well done. I didnt look too hard for you as I thought you would probably be half way home.

Must do some packing!! Any one seen a french weather forecast?
