Turning Junk site back into a pony paddock

I have recently purchased a field that backs on to my stables - it was recently used as a quad bike/ clay pigeon shoot.

I have thousands of Shotgun Cartriges all over the floor - thousands of them spread all over the 3 1/2 acres and i just dont know the best way of picking them up!! Are the metal bits on the end magnetic? Do you think i could get some sort of magnet to pick them all up with or would somehting like a paddock sweeper (or is this just for horse poo) be more appropriate?

There is also bits of wood every where (just little bits) should i do this by hand?

I just dont know where to start!!!

Wow, what a fantastic opportunity - and what a lot of hard work.

I think the cartridges are going to keep reappearing and you'll need to go over the ground, once "cleared" every time it rains.

Have a 'Cartridge Picking Party'.....invote everyone over to do an hour, then promise a BBQ and a bit of booze.....amazing how much will get picked up!

I understand there is a machine that sifts the soil to remove all these but I can not remember where I saw it. Try googling or shooting sites.

Pretty sure you can get pickers for cartridges... look on some shooting supply websites?
