Hi Everyone

Wondering if anyone can offer me some advice?!!

I have a mare that is due to foal at the end of june we also have her yearling filly, she is weaned now and is currently turned out next-door, neither seem too attached to each other anymore, i bring the filly in regularly and neither whinney or show any signs of distress. Due to a grazing problem i need to move the filly and was wondering if she would be okay turned out with the mare? what do you think? Also would she be okay still in the same field after the mare has foaled or not??

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am so new to all of this!!

Thanks in advance.

I can't see a problem, I have turned all my foals out with there dam, after they been weaned, and as like you she has been in foal again.

One of mine has been with her mum since two months after weaning (she is now 3) . She was weaned in the field right next door to her mum. If you intend to breed from the filly later it will be a really good experience for her to watch her mum and see how it's done.
