Stallion has just moved on to his Winter Paddock - and there is a fair amount of grass on it.

Should i be worried with the frost regarding lami? He is out from 6.30am till about 3.30pm.

If you are worried turn him out later on, alternatively decrease his over night hay slightly and turn him out with hay in the field which will hopefully keep hm occupied until the frost is off the grass.

I have never worried about colic with frost, I think it has been linked to not drinking as much water, and not necessarily the frost? Ours have hay out anyway :)

It's a good idea to line your stomach before you turn them out as well so the cold grass don't hit the warm stomach and make problems. Iv only ever had 1 colic before because off the frozen grass so good breakfast now before they all go out to play

Is he lami prone? If so keep him off the frosty grass....and even more so keep him off frosty grass that is in full sunshine and defrosting.
Not worth the risk if I'm honest.

I just tip mines breakfast out on top of a pile of hay. I've done that for years with numberous horses and never had an issue.

I give my lami prone girl her breakfast and some soaked hay, she gets turned out about 11.30am by this time the frost has cleared. My routine worked last year so hoping it will work this year too.

Ours have a breakfast before they go out to line their tummies. I have a good doer and friend has a skinny tb, and that system works for both - tb gets a hard feed and my fatty gets some hay. We try to put them out as late as we can but obviously with work it is tricky, they have to be out by 8.30. But we didn't have any problems last winter despite the big freeze so I am confident enough...
