Has anybody started turning their horses out all night yet.I have! She's usally stabled at night but the nights are nicer and the grass is good. It's just the flies that annoy her and some days she tries to kick the feild door down to get into her stable because of the flies. She's out tonight with her fly rug on and she looks happy.I use fly gel and put it on the main parts that the flies bite. She also gets garlic powder in her feed which I'm told helps keep flies away but they still seem to be annoying her.Any ideas on how I can help make my horses life easier. Both during the day at if she's left out at night. She tried to kick the feild gate down yesterday after being turning out for only fiveteen minutes but I let her in only to find flies all over her even with the gel. They were sucking her blood and now she has a few bites.
WHAT CAN I DO?????????

Keep a fly rug on her at all times. You can also feed her marmite or Brewer's yeast (same thing!!)

that is a really good idea its so hard to see them in such pain. my horse was in a terrible state on thur due to midges but yesterday he seemed much happier. i did put benzo all on his mane both sides and his tail and bless him very relaxed yesterday.
he does look funny in his rug like a jousting horse lol :D

i have heard mixed things about garlic
