Hey ?
We had one of our fields cut for hay about 3 weeks ago. I kept them off it on another field to let it recover a bit after the dry weather. It’s had a bit of rain and is starting to green up a bit more and is now at least an ok length.

I’ve raked out any bits of missed hay from the bailer that have started to go black ? raking obviously isn’t perfect though so there are still the odd strands of hay moulding. There are also quite big patches of brown/orange grass that’s stil toasted from the dry weather.

Would you turn out on this?
I’d like to because it is the field I can turnout all 3 in without needing a hand as it’s right by the barn. I’d also quite like t
o give my other paddocks some rest.

thanks in advance for the advice and thoughts.

I would. There seems enough good stuff that they’d ignore the few bits of left over hay. I’d obviously make sure there weren’t any fermenting piles left.

Thank you.
there are not fementing piles. The green is mixed in with browning grass but I think that’s fine right? It’s just the hay that’s getting old that’s no good I think.
