My horse has started to knock the inside of his hock, so much so he has cut himself and now the cut has got infected. I was thinking of putting turnout boots. What are the best boots to use

Would he not be better with brushing boots? There isn't much protection from knocks in a turnout boot, and I don't like having elasticated boots on for too long either..

I use equilibrium close contact turnout chaps. They wouldn't help against knocks but would stop cuts from happening.
It was between these and equilibrium allsport boots but managed to find some of the above a but cheaper second hand so decided to try them. Im a bit cautious about using normal boots because possibility of leg over heating.
