In the past I have tried the Equilibrium ones and the Sportabrac ones, I think the Sportabrac ones give a closer fit, easier to use (less fiddly) and cheaper. Both worked but preferred the Sportabrac ones. Hope this helps
I used the sportabac long turnout socks, and was very very impressed! my boy is in a field with mud like i have never seen before, and i never imagined anything to keep them clean, but they were amazing
I used the sportabrac turnout socks and have to say i hated them!! they made her legs sweat terribly, my friend bought the equlibrium ones and they ripped after a few weeks so we gave up and just use gold label mud guard spray it works a treat
Id only ever use these sorts of boots if you have an actual problem with mud fever TBH.
Ive used Sportabac boots just overnight for keeping white socks clean and their legs sweated up quite badly in them (during winter too)... I dont like them!
ha ha, they are in a very used state with straps hanging off so don't think they would be much use I'm afraid! They did two winters, I had two sets for the hind legs and rotated them through the washing machine as very important they are kept clean. My horse didn't really sweat much under them as was normally cold and wet and kept is lower legs trimmed (but not clipped) but I used to put thermatex leg wraps on at night to thoroughly dry them anyhow as sometimes in heavy rain the legs would get wet and there would always be some excess moisture.
I used this routine of leg wraps and turnout socks from Oct - Mar normally, sometimes longer, on a horse who had two white socks and had suffered from mud fever badly before and it worked really well. Good luck
Love my sportabac boots , have 2 sets so they are clean every morning .Mine had terrible mudfever but after trying everything , kerratex powder and sportabac boots have worked beautifully
I use the tougher ones made by Equilibrium. They've been really gud and are a lot cheaper than the others. I tried the sportabac ones but they used to twist round and slide down.
I have some redundant DH ones size 3 I think (long turnout socks)...bought them thinking good idea...then thought about it and thought they are not going to suit my girl with her delicate skin
and was worried about stuff getting underneath and rubbing her legs...so never used them in the end!!!!
