Time to start preparing for the dreaded mud fever season.

C had it really bad last year and still has scarring from it.

This year I want to turn her out in turnout boots as shes going to be in at night but not sure which ones are the best.

Can anyone recommend some for me please

lol daisy! I used the equilibrium ones last year and everything stuck to the velcro - plus they stuck to themselves and me!

They are good though - horse's skin can breathe, had no mud fever, plus one day one of them was ripped through on the front - that could have been my boy's leg!!!

so despite the velcro issues - I recommend them.

I agree with Daisy! I have both and the Sportabac long turn out socks are much easier to put on/off. You will probably need a spare pair unless you can wash them through each night when your horse is in. I hate winter!

My mare was unfortunately put down from severe mud fever and lymphongitis this spring. it was an impossible combination! I used the sportabac boots which did give her a bit more freedom for a while. eay to use and cean!!

Have both - Sportabrac I feel give better fit, are cheaper and defo easier to put on! Equilibrium ones are good but my vote is with the sportabrac ones.

I use the equilibrium ones and love them lots, they did the job last year of preventing my horse from getting mud on his legs! however i have never used the sportabac ones so cant really judge them!
