Has anyone had a lungeing arena made or a turnout area that you can also lunge on? What size and what surface did you have. Also any recommendations on who you had to do it.
I am in Suffolk and not sure who to telephone for a quote . Any firms that are good and any I should steer clear of. Also how much does the average cost?
Thanks .x

We have two all weather turnout paddocks that would be big enough to lunge in. They are sand & we put the horses out in them with hay if the fields are particularly wet. My OH built them and the cost was largely the ground works, stones for the base, cost of the sand and fencing.

We have a slightly smaller than 20x20m area for turnout and lunging. We have flexiride on it which is great as we don't have a membrane, it doesn't freeze and it doesn't track too badly so less raking needed(we do it by hand!). The only thing I don't like about it is that some of the plastic bits are a bit hard and get stuck between the horses clefts. I didn't like the local people we had install it, however I have used All Seasons Fencing for my fencing and they do arenas too and are in Suffolk. They did a fabulous job on my fencing and the workers were really friendly and polite. PM me if you want to know who I would not use for your fencing/arena.
