This is on behalf of a friend...

She's going to a local show and her current jacket is navy, but pony's tack is black (non-negotiable as he's a riding school pony), as are her boots and hat silk. She's doing Pony Club Pony, best junior rider, veterans and tack & turnout. So is this navy jacket OK? and if not is she better off buying/borrowing a black one or a tweed one (it's quite likely she'll do BHS stages in which case she'd need tweed).

Your opinions please!

If she is doing BHS then a tweed would be her best bet. Otherwise stick with the navy. Don't try to match it to the tack. It may be nicer to purchase a velvet cover for the hat rather than a silk - they are not very expensive and it would look nicer.

Velvet is what I mean but my point by saying "hat silk" was that it was a cover for a skull cap. Sorry, that was a little garbled!

I guess it would be better to get a navy one to match the navy jacket if she sticks with it though?

Thanks for your advice.
