For a 16h slim WB mare.

She has a Masta without neck at the moment but it doesn't seem to fit and laready rubs even though she has only worn it for 1 week :(

I have just bought 2 amigos for my skinny TB, lovely so far..... ride-away were the best prices I could find. Horse and rider have an offer on of a free l/w amigo rug if you subscribe.

there are lots of other threads about turnout rugs so I would recommend searching through the forum.
However, I only ever use Rambo rugs. Although they are expensive they last for years and I think the quality is miles above other rugs. I use Rambo rugs on my very narrow TB and also my meduim Warmblood. I havent ever had a problem with rubbing, leaking or slipping. Hope that helps

I find Rambo fit my narrowish warmblood very well but do not do so well on my chunkier warmblood. I find that Masta do not fit round the neck/chest of my narrower horse. They seem to be cut for more of a cob typel

I hate Masta and Shires rugs - never yet seen them fitting a horse (I'm sure they do fit some horses, just none that I've seen!) My horse (broad and long ID x) only really fits in Rambos (unfortunately for me - though luckily I'd already splashed out on a Duo with liners and a Supreme lightweight for her a couple of years ago when I had the money). Weatherbeetas seem to fit the narrower types IME, FALs fit a lot if you can afford them, and Amigos and Rambos are my other rugs of preference. You really do get what you pay for - my two Rambos clean up like new each spring, as did my FAL when I used it (really should sell the thing now I have the Duo). Save up and invest and then you can forget about buying new rugs for a good few years to come :)

Seen saxon rugs last several years, maybe worth a try if you are on a budget? although don't seem to go very deep? Not as good as rambo etc but...

Yes, have thought about them as well.. Do you have one?

I do a premier turnout top of the range but I love that rug keeps my boy snug, dry and not overheating in a wide range of weather conditions. Does not move either.

I am now a bucas convert (before that had amigo's good rugs but not the bucas quality and do eventually get small holes in them when the boys play )

another fan of rambo - i bought a rambo duo the first winter i had my little TB mare and it is still in one piece 4 years later, actually selling it to another livery as it is in great condition and as i lost my little mare this year in a horrible accident. Need to invest in new rugs for new pony dont really want to use same stuff :(

also own a rhino med weight and a amigo rain sheet. i think you do get what you pay for with rugs but also horses are all different shapes, like us humans who can be a size 6 in marks and spencer but a 10 in topshop lol! I have a weatherbeeta orion with detchable neck and my only crit of it would be the neck seemed too heavy for her TB frame and rubbed her mane, wereas my rambo never did (only bought weatherbeeta as on sale and wanted to wash the rambo) it also let in water around her narrow neck ?

quite like the look of the premier equine rugs but not used them before?

ooo time to go shopping i think! :)
