What do other cobby owner use for turnout rugs - he is a bit wide at the front but flat over the wither a little.
had a cheap no fill Rhinegold one to try as he hadnt had rugs on before, all went well but its slipping and tight then at the fron and sure it must hurt trying to graze as its digging in at the buckles at the front as the front rug parts keep folding back on themselves exposing the buckle to the skin!!!! Not good.

Dont want to spent a fortune - line the FAL one as think its ridiculous for a rug to be over £150.

Some one said the Mark Todd ones?
Friend has a shires one she said I can have for cheap but agin dont want to buy unless I know its going to be ok on him and not rub at the shoulders................

the horseware Amigo rugs fir my girls nicely. The neck seems much shorter, but broader so they dont slip back behind the withers (like the masta ones seem to!)

I use the Weatherbeeta Orican on mine. Fits well and think it was about £60

Mine gets the same problem as yours, buckles digging into the neck. Rugs that have fitted well are Horseware, high or full neck versions, Weatherbeeta, must be the freestyle ones, which give plenty of room for big cob shoulders to move, again high or full neck. Always go for a nylon lining, the rug then moves easily over the coat whereas a cotton lining drags against the coat and causes rubs. I find a normal no neck style never fits well, and the Fal I had was the worst of the lot.

Mine has a Weatherbeeta Orican, Fal Cheiftan and a Mark Todd all of which fit well. He has a Shires Typhoon that rubs slightly on the shoulders which I've replaced this season with a Premier Equine rug which he has yet to wear.
