i am looking for a winter rug for my shire horse, have found one place that sell them but would like to compare prices, a good second hand one would do as he would onley have it on occasionally in realy bad weather, and onley because he is now 22 and OH feels sorry for him. Any other owners of heavies out there??

We have had a few heavies over the years and have not had too muh diffiulty with rugs (bridles and bits, now that was always a different matter!) The last big girl was fine in rugs from Robinsons (an't remember the brand name) we only bought heap ones as she managed to snag them, looked like barbed wire rips, goodness knows how as we don't have any! She was a 17hh ShirexClyde

I want somthing that falls below his gut so rain does'nt drip around his belly and most dont look deep anough!

I've not got a shire got 18hh maybe bigger not sure ID X got 7'3 rugs from my 17'3hh but they not deep enough for her either and struggling to get a girth long enough for her no one seem to do them longer than 60 inchs, have been told i can have one made but expensive.
