Turnout rugs

Looking for a turnout rug for my 14hh Welsh D. He takes 5’9” length but has a wide chest so everything I’ve tried so far is too tight / rubs On his shoulders. Anyone found the right rug for wide chests that is neat around the neck?

I have a cob with this problem... I have not found a good option but my friend has a cob with the same size rug as yours and she uses a rug extender they are really worth getting! I have found Gallop rugs to be very good for horses with a wide cast and big shoulder.

Bucas big neck rugs worth a try, not cheap but l have one on an older pony and it’s not rubbed.

Fair point! They look good! I think the rug extenders are good because you don't have to buy a whole new rug though!

Weatherbeeters are my go-to for a chunky piebald. Have also been pleasantly surprised by a budget 'Jump' brand, bought off fleabay in an emergency. Fitted well and absolutely waterproof, although cob isn't as chunky as he used to be.
