firstly i'm a rubbish speller appoligises.
my 8 year old mare has broken or lost the only tush she has it dosent seem to afect her eating or anything, its only slightly pinkish it dosent seem to hurt if you press were it was. i'm cant decide wether to call the vet out or not, if she was in pain i would defently get the vet , but as it stands any thoughts on this one please people

The mare we've had on loan and are about to buy has 2 apparently quite big wolf teeth, which we are going to have removed on our vet's advice. It will mean 2 weeks off work for her, so it is being done after the school holidays. Also antibiotics I expect. So... I would either call your vet if they are "into" equine dentistry as ours are, otherwise an equine dental technician and get their advice.
 
Quite a few mares have canines (tushes) although they only appear on the upper bars of the mouth. I shouldnt think she has lost the whole tooth as they are extremely deep routed, she has probably fractured it. If there is no sign of pain or gingivits and she is happy bitted then leave it until the vet next comes for something else and ask him/her to have a quick look and the canine.
