Yup you'll be fine. At some SJ comps I find Im the only one in a tweed but I love my tweed and spent far too much money on it not to wear it!!

Doesn't really matter what colour your shirt is as you can't usually see it under jacket and stock. Your stock should be coloured with tween though, not white. I wear my tweed at BSJA and will do when i do BD this winter.

So do you have to wear a stock with tweed for these disciplines? Is shirt and tie only correct attire for hunting?

Hmmmm in eventing you get people in shirt and ties and stocks with tweed, you can have both. I think for BSJA you can wear a shirt and tie with tweed if you want too but i'm not sure about BD tbh (double check the rule books). If your only talking unaffiliated you will be fine in either.

I am terrible, i just wear a shirt!!!

Am supposed to have the stock on it, but have never bought one and never been told to wear one yet...... you watch, i will now i've said that!

tweed is more appropriate for unaffiliated classes and apparently it's more correct to wear a shirt and tie, or a coloured stock underneath a tweed rather than a white or cream stock.

However, you tend to find that at unaffiliated shows, anything goes, particularly in showjumping.

I wear a tweed. I love it. I wear a coloured stock with it ( well i did until i lost it!) I havnt been out in ages so just wear my shirt as iv only been keeping the numbers up at my yards unaffiliated shows.

I am however being treated to a fitted dark jacket by a very good boyfriend haha! So i will blend in now, i used to quite like being one of the few in tweed.

See the only thng is you cannot really wear bright white jods with tweed. I like to be able to bleach my competiton jods and even then they are not perfect!!!

Ah see i didn't think of that.....i much prefer my white jods/breeches to my beige ones.... hmm what to do now?!?!?!

I dont think white jods look that bad with a tweed. Really depends on the colour of your tweed

Me and My horse at trailblazer finals yesterday....

Dont think it looks completely horrendous, although canary colours do look better IMO

What a load of b***ll**cks. I have competed for years and won and been placed many times at affiliated Dressage and Showjumping in my very nice tweed, never had it commented on yet

. I believe i said tweed is more appropriate for unaffiliated, which is correct. i never said that meant tweed is not appropriate for affiliated classes. The OP did not mention affiliated!

I mis-understood that. I see what you mean now sorry! Not sure I agree it's more or less appropriate though as even at unaff most seem to wear black/navy these days. I just like my tweed and like to support it by wearing it as much as possible!!

i dont think tweed is more appropriate for unaffiliated. most people wear navy or black be it unaff or aff. i always wore navy with my last horse (unaff and aff dressage) but just bought a new tweed and it looks fab with new pony so taken to wearing that now.

Would be fair to say you can spot the eventers miles off at BSJA as they are the ones in tweed and plain bridles.

Really don't fit in as no bling or flash jackets, or even better no shell suit style Whitaker jacket!!!
