Tweed sizing nightmare!

I have been looking for a new tweed now for quite a few weeks and my search has turned up sweet FA! My problem is I am small but with an adults shape - so a size 8 ladies is too big and a 30 maids is not the right shape for me at all. So I really need a size 6 ladies and can't find one anywhere, unless I get made to measure... But I really only have a small budget of around £80-£100. Can anyone help or know of anywhere I can try?

(Some may remember my other post about tweeds where I was going to get the one I had altered to fit - it was going to cost near enough £200!)

Shires do their Huntingdon jacket in size 6 - I have the one with the blue velvet collar and it's a lovely jacket. You can get one off ebay for £86.99 including the postage.

Not sure if the link will work as I'm rubbish at stuff like this, but they're from Barnstormers, who I've used in the past and found to be very reliable.

Totally feel your pain!
I am a different shape to you but had problems with sleeves. The 34 being just right but far too short in sleeves and the 36 being perfect (almost in sleeves but big)
I got a shires 36 from eBay for £40 its in the local dry cleaners who do alterations too........am having the sleeves let down and the side seams taken in an " each side. Its costing £57 total with the dry cleaning thrown in.......i just hope it works! picking it up next week.........

I'm small like you. Bought a maids 32 and got it taken in at an old fashioned tailor for £18. They did a fab job. The sleeves are just long enough.

What about buying a slightly bigger jacket second hand, but good quality,and getting a good tailor to take it in?

I've got a Musto Innovation tweed that I wore in a torrential downpour last year,it is a size 8 but now it's been cleaned I think it's a 6. It's stretch tweed and very fitted if you think it would be any good for you I can send you a pic, but I can only email or text as I can't put pics on here! It's green with pale blue and pink overcheck (sounds disgusting but looks very smart). I managed to get another one.
